Under the direction of the Operations Director and Medical Director, this individual performs designated and other assigned clerical and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
Receive calls from physicians' offices, hospital staff, patients and other customers. Provides assistance on routine requests and inquiries and refers calls as appropriate. Provides, within established deadlines, typed records, memorandums, meeting minutes, statistical data and reports, as assigned and assures confidentiality of files and related matters. Coordinates administrative and staff meetings, conference calls and program events. Administratively supports and participates as a member of the Hospitalist team. Types and assists in maintaining Policy and Procedure manuals and other applicable manuals as necessary. Photocopies and distributes required documents. Performs secretarial/clerical functions as needed, including use of computer for data processing and typing. Use of fax machine, copier and other office equipment. Orders clerical supplies in accordance with established procedure. Assists in care and maintenance of equipment; reports malfunction and/or need for repairs to the supervisor. Opens and distributes mail. Runs errands necessary for effective operation of department. Participates in department billing, reimbursement, insurance management protocols and filing requirements. Maintains established medical center policies, procedures and objectives for quality assurance, safety and infection control. Maintains schedules within Perfect Serve and completes provider payroll. Maintains a positive and professional attitude and appearance with patients, customers and co-workers. Willingly cooperates and assists others as needed. Other Information One year medical or hospital office experience. Excellent computer skills and entry level experience with information system technology. Demonstrates a willingness to become knowledgeable in laboratory tests and principles and to convey accurate information when managing department inquiries. Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills. Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
