Bee-Safe is hiring an experienced Low Voltage / Access Control Technician to support our growing electronic security division.
This position is primarily focused on access control installation, service, troubleshooting, and programming, with secondary responsibilities involving video surveillance systems, intrusion alarms, and related low-voltage security technology.
We are not looking for someone who “kind of knows wiring.” We need a technician who can show up professionally, think through a jobsite, troubleshoot under pressure, communicate with clients, and complete work correctly the first time.
Primary Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of this position is access control.
Duties include:
Install, service, and troubleshoot access control systems
Wire and terminate readers, door contacts, REX devices, electric strikes, maglocks, power supplies, relays, and controllers
Understand fail-safe versus fail-secure locking hardware
Work with access control door hardware, including strikes, maglocks, electrified hardware, and request-to-exit devices
Program and configure access control systems
Diagnose door locking, unlocking, timing, communication, and power issues
Read wiring diagrams, system drawings, and installation instructions
Maintain clean, professional wiring and labeling standards
Test systems fully before turning them over to the customer
Document work completed, deficiencies, and follow-up needs
Secondary Responsibilities:
When needed, this position will also assist with:
Installation and service of IP camera systems
Running, terminating, and testing Cat6 and low-voltage cabling
Mounting and aiming cameras
Basic NVR/cloud camera setup and troubleshooting
Intrusion alarm installation and service
Door hardware coordination and troubleshooting
Customer walkthroughs and system demonstrations
Service calls, repairs, and preventive maintenance
Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have:
Prior experience with access control systems
Strong low-voltage wiring and troubleshooting skills
Ability to use hand tools, drills, meters, testers, ladders, and installation equipment
Understanding of 12VDC/24VDC power, relays, contacts, and basic circuits
Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow manufacturer instructions
Clean, professional appearance and communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass background screening
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the service area
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Access control platforms such as 3xLOGIC/infinias, Brivo, PDK, Alarm.com, or similar
IP camera systems such as Axis, Hanwha, Uniview, Verkada, Eagle Eye, or similar
Intrusion alarm systems
Commercial door hardware
Maglocks, electric strikes, REX devices, and card readers
Network basics, including IP addressing, PoE switches, and connectivity troubleshooting
Lift operation or OSHA/safety training

Compensation:
Pay is based on experience, skill level, and ability to work independently.
Recommended Indeed range:
$24.00 – $34.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Higher compensation may be considered for a technician who can independently install, troubleshoot, program, and complete access control projects with minimal supervision.
Schedule:
Full-time or Part-time
Monday through Friday, typical business hours
Occasional after-hours or emergency service work may be required
Some travel within the service area required
