Associate Attorney – General Litigation
Bee Ready Law Group, LLP is seeking a motivated and talented Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation practice. Position Summary
The Associate Attorney will assist in and manage a variety of litigation matters in state and federal courts from inception through resolution. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and clients while handling pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation.
This position provides substantial opportunities for professional development, direct client interaction, and courtroom experience.
Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of litigation, including case assessment, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals.
- Draft complaints, answers, motions, briefs, memoranda of law, and other litigation-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
- Manage written discovery, document review, and e-discovery.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Attend and participate in court conferences, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
- Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, hearings, and trial.
- Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on complex litigation matters.
- Maintain case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active admission in good standing with the New York State Bar.
- A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Employment litigation
- Municipal defense
- Civil rights litigation
- Personal injury defense
- Land use and zoning litigation
- General civil litigation
- Admission to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and/or Southern District of New York is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with legal research, motion practice, discovery, and court appearances.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational and case management abilities.
- Experience taking or defending depositions is preferred.
- Trial experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
