About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and safety-driven CDL-A driver to operate as our Yard Lead to oversee daily yard operations at our Roanoke, Texas location. In this key leadership role, you’ll coordinate the movement, staging, and organization of all trucks, trailers, and equipment—ensuring efficient operations and compliance with company, FMCSA and DOT standards.
You’ll serve as the go-to person for yard activities, working closely with dispatch, drivers, and mechanics to keep equipment moving safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
Lead and oversee all yard operations during assigned shifts.
Assign, coordinate, and monitor trailer spotting, staging, and equipment movement.
Track trailer inventory and communicate availability to dispatch and fleet managers.
Perform daily yard checks and maintain accurate location records.
Optimize yard layout for safety, efficiency, and accessibility.
Collaborate with dispatch and mechanics to ensure trailers are ready for use (repairs, inspections, loading).
Utilize proper PPE to climb on trailers for inspection or for loading.
Train and supervise yard staff, ensuring proper equipment use and adherence to safety protocols.
Conduct safety checks and enforce OSHA and DOT compliance.
Report equipment damage, unsafe conditions, or delays to management.
Maintain yard cleanliness and organization.
- Ensure dress codes are followed for both Bee Line and any customer sites is followed at all times.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Commercial License (Class A) required.
A minimum of 2 years experience with pneumatic tankers.
Leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred. Will train the right person.
Knowledge of yard management systems, trailer spotting, and DOT safety standards.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs and climb in/out of trucks and trailers.
Climb up to 12 ft. to secure trailer covers.
Stand and walk for extended periods.
Work safely around heavy equipment in outdoor environments.
Salary : $28 - $30
