Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic with specialized knowledge in reefer units, diesel engines, and DEF systems. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the reliability and performance of our fleet. Pay is competitive and based on experience and certifications.
As a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical issues on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. You’ll use your expertise to develop repair plans, conduct inspections, and perform hands-on repairs, including engine work, brake service, transmission replacement, and more. You’ll also handle preventive maintenance tasks and emergency field service calls when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical and technical issues using diagnostic tools and visual inspections
Perform repairs on diesel engines, reefer units, DEF systems, brakes, transmissions, and exhaust systems
Complete routine maintenance including oil changes, brake checks, alignments, and wheel balancing
Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure optimal performance
Maintain accurate service records and parts inventory
Respond to emergency roadside service calls as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Certification in diesel engines, DEF systems, and reefer units preferred
Experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction
Ideal for former Army 91B, Marine 3521, Navy EN, or Air Force 2T3X2
Valid driver's license is required
Tow endorsement a plus and will be reflected in compensation
Compensation:
- Salary range from $26-$35 based on experience
- On-Call pay $50 per day Monday-Friday and $75 per day on Saturday & Sunday.
8am - 5pm
