What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wedding DJ position at BEDO Brands, Inc.?
We are hiring DJ's for our wedding venues!
Responsibilities
BEDO Sound is our MC & DJ program offered in-house by BEDO Brands to our customers for their events and weddings. BEDO Sound DJs work with our couples in the weeks leading up to their event to ensure that their needs are communicated and met. BEDO Sound DJs must be able to provide a fun, professional, and positive experience for our couples and their guests through great music and customer service.
A successful DJ in this role is a strong speaker—you can introduce the wedding party with ease and accuracy, you are comfortable and confident sharing announcements throughout the event, and you are able to facilitate things like toasts and special dances. You are also able to communicate with all guests professionally, honoring the requests of the couple while doing your best to ensure guests have a great time. You know your way around our equipment and can pivot on the fly when something doesn’t work quite right.
Perks of the job:
- We provide all of the equipment you need-you do not need to load and unload heavy speakers and sound boards from your car and bring them in each shift-we have all of that and more at our venues for you to use.
- Weddings are fun! You are DJ'ing an event for one of the happiest days of a couple's life-it's a great atmosphere with happy people.
- Free dinner-enjoy a free catered meal every shift you work.
- We sell and schedule the gigs for you-you don't have to deal with booking the couples, we simply schedule you for your events and you show up.
- Weddings almost always end at midnight. No super late nights, no getting home at 4am from a gig. Our DJ's are typically packed up and heading home by 12:30am.
- Learn from veteran DJ's! We provide extensive training on our equipment with experienced DJ's.
The BEDO Sound DJ duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Communicate with couples in the weeks leading up to their event and complete all pre-event DJ tasks.
2. Prepare playlist for each couple’s event, using the BEDO Sound MC form for a list of the couple’s preferred songs and styles.
3. Set up BEDO Sound equipment (speakers, microphones, sound board, lights) for ceremonies, both indoor and outdoor, and receptions.
4. Assist officiants, family, bridal party members and couples with using the microphone for the ceremony, toasts and speeches.
5. Play music for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing using the couple’s preferences and guest requests.
6. Make announcements for the couple or event staff as needed throughout the day, confirming pronunciation of names and any pertinent details.
7. Maintain awareness of event timeline and work with Event Manager to coordinate the timing of important event milestones, such as asking guests to be seated, grand march and first dances.
8. Maintain awareness of the crowd’s response to music selections and adjust as necessary to create a full and lively dance floor.
9. Take down and safely store BEDO Sound equipment at the conclusion of each event.
10. Other duties as assigned.
