What are the responsibilities and job description for the GREENHOUSE PRODUCTION ASSISTANT III (SEASONAL) position at Bedner's Farm and Greenhouse?

More than two-thirds of what we sell is grown right here on site, and our production team is the heartbeat of it all. From January through May, we fill seventeen greenhouses with hanging baskets, annuals, herbs, veggie plants, and perennials that our community loves.

Key Responsibilities:
- Fill pots and trays with soil (by hand or with equipment)
- Sow seeds; transplant seedlings and cuttings
- Trim, weed, prune, and maintain plant quality
- Water plants by hand or via irrigation systems
- General plant care and greenhouse maintenance
- Assist with pick-your-own field operations
- scout for pests and diseases; assist with monitoring programs
- mix and apply fertilizers
- assist with pesticide and growth regulator applications
Qualifications:
- Advanced horticulture knowledge
- 4 years of greenhouse production experience
- PA Pesticide Applicator License (a plus)
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
working conditions & hours
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for up to 8 hours
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and precipitation).
- Seasonal role: approximately February–June, 25-40 hours per week
