After starting as a silk weaving mill in the 1930s, Belding-Heminway, one of the oldest textile companies founded in this country, purchased the company. Belding-Heminway continued to operate until Mr. Garbarini purchased the business in 1982 and the company has continued to see success and growth through subsequent generations of the Garbarini family.
Belding-Hemingway played an important role in the manufacturing of thread for parachutes during WWII. The Garbarini family has kept this rich tradition alive today by continuing to supply to companies that produce American made products.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to plan layouts and joint preparation.
- Operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, stick (SMAW), and flux-core welders, adjusting settings for material type and thickness.
- Prepare and fit-up workpieces using clamps, fixtures, and hand tools to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Execute welds in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) with consistent bead profile and fusion.
- Inspect finished welds visually or with non-destructive testing (NDT) to detect defects and ensure compliance.
- Repair or rework damaged or non-compliant welds, fill holes, and build up metal parts.
- Maintain and service welding machines, cutting tools, and related equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE to prevent injury and maintain a safe work environment.
- Meet project specifications and deadlines
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities

- Excellent attention to detail and safety
- Must be able to work assigned shift and overtime as necessary
- Dependability and reliability are required

- Manufacturing setting.
- Shift is typically 8AM β 4:30PM (1/2 hour lunch)
- Moderate to high noise levels at times (PPE and testing provided).
- May require the use of sharp tools to cut materials.
