- Maintain accurate medical records, including patient history and treatment plans.
- Perform basic optical tests and measurements to support the optometrist.
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage, promoting enhancements to better assist patients in achieving the best possible vision for their lifestyle.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optical technology and procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to optics and eye care.
- Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
- Experience with medical coding and billing processes.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Crystal PM is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Sales skills to promote optical products effectively while ensuring patient satisfaction.
- Previous experience in an optical setting is a plus.
