Library Courier Position
The Bedford Public Library System is seeking a responsible individual for the position of Library Courier. Responsibilities involve sorting and delivering library materials, mail, supplies, and equipment to all six libraries in Bedford County. Other requirements include the ability to lift at least 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods of time. Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to adhere to a strict schedule are also required.
The successful candidate will hold a valid VA Driver’s License, have a satisfactory driving record, at least one-year previous experience driving a large van/commercial vehicle, and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. A CDL is not required. The position starts at $14.61 per hour, is in grade 2, and is 20 hours per week: 9:00am – 3:00pm MWF and 9:00am – 11:00am on Tuesdays. Additional book handling duties may be assigned, on a temporary basis, depending on the Library’s seasonal needs.
