Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance coverage, and gather necessary intake information
- Schedule appointments efficiently
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures by preparing materials and ensuring patient comfort
- Strong knowledge of surgical set ups and assisting in various periodontal surgeries required.
- Perform dental and medical administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and document review
- Verify insurance benefits and process claims using ADA coding
- Handle collections and follow up on outstanding balances with patients or insurance companies
- Conduct insurance verification and pre-authorizations to streamline patient care processes
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and documentation review procedures
- Support medical billing processes through accurate coding, documentation review, and submission of claims
- Manage front desk operations including appointment reminders, patient check-in/out, and payment processing
- Assist with health information management tasks such as filing medical records and updating patient charts
Skills
- X ray certification needed
- experience preferred.
- Proven ability to perform medical billing, collections, insurance verification, and documentation review accurately
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with Softdent office management software and Carestream
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette on multi-line phone systems
- Prior clinic or dental office experience with familiarity in front desk duties and office management practices
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for health information management and confidentiality protocols
- Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills for filing, record keeping, appointment scheduling, and care plan management
