Job Description:
Bedell Cellars, a premier winery located on the North Fork of Long Island, is seeking a professional, reliable, and service-oriented Seasonal Parking Attendant to join our team through October.
The Parking Attendant is often one of the first points of contact for our guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, organized, and safe experience from the moment guests arrive. This position requires someone who is friendly and professional while also being comfortable taking responsibility for traffic flow, parking, property safety, and general guest support.
The ideal candidate is well-groomed, articulate, observant, dependable, and able to remain calm and positive during busy periods and high-volume weekends.
This is a non-gratuity position.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist incoming and departing guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Work outdoors and remain visible and attentive throughout the shift.
- Direct traffic and parking according to vehicle and group size while maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow.
- Maintain a professional presence and tactfully manage crowds, traffic, and guest concerns.
- Regularly walk and monitor the property to identify and address potential safety issues, hazards, debris, or outside food and beverages that may violate property policies.
- Serve as an additional security and safety presence on the property by remaining alert, observant, and proactive in identifying issues that may require attention.
- Communicate promptly with management and other team members regarding safety concerns, guest issues, unusual activity, or other property concerns.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including helping to close the property to the public for private events.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming property throughout the day.
- Assist with a variety of physical and operational tasks as needed, including moving furniture, parking barriers, signage, and other equipment.
- Remove garbage and assist with keeping outdoor areas and guest spaces clean and presentable.
- Assist other departments and team members with general property needs as directed by management.
- Provide directions and answer guest questions while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Saturday availability is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays throughout the season.
- Ability to work holidays as required.
- Reliable transportation is required. Candidates must have dependable transportation to and from Bedell Cellars for all scheduled shifts.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm, positive, and professionally poised during busy periods and under pressure.
- Strong situational awareness and the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to safety or security concerns.
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to regularly walk the property throughout a shift.
- Ability to lift and move furniture, barriers, signage, garbage, and other items as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in person, by radio, and by phone.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and established procedures.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to assist with tasks outside of the primary parking responsibilities when needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
