Duties
- Provide attentive pet sitting and daily care for dogs, including feeding, walking, and administering medication if needed
- Engage dogs in training activities to promote good behavior and socialization
- Handle dog restraint and animal handling techniques safely and compassionately
- Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing pet boarding areas, kennels, and grooming stations to ensure a hygienic environment
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep dogs comfortable and healthy
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness and communicate observations to veterinary staff when necessary
- Support pet boarding operations by ensuring all animals are properly cared for during their stay
Requirements
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly valued
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel work demonstrates your ability to handle animals confidently
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal restraint and behavior management techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving supplies or assisting with large dogs
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Knowledge of pet grooming, sanitation practices, and animal care standards is preferred
- Outdoor work experience is beneficial as this role involves active engagement in various weather conditions
