Becton Healthcare Resources manages outpatient mental health clinics in the bay area that are committed to providing high-quality, culturally responsive care to diverse communities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credentialing & Administrative Support Coordinator to join our Pleasanton office on a part-time basis.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and compliant credentialing of clinical staff with state and county partners, including Alameda County Behavioral Health. The role also provides essential administrative support to maintain smooth internal operations.
This role combines credentialing support with general administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of healthcare credentialing requirements and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Credentialing Support
- Prepare, submit, and track credentialing and re-credentialing applications for MDs, NPs, PAs, PharmDs, and other licensed professionals
- Manage provider profiles in CAQH, ensuring the following actions are completed per county requirements:
- Ensure CAQH profiles are created and complete
- Monitor for re-attestation every 120 days, prompting staff when action is required
- Verify authorization is granted to county to access CAQH profiles
- Follow up with staff to complete missing CAQH information or upload required documents
- Provide guidance and escalate to the CAQH Help Desk when necessary
- Track and maintain credentialing documentation such as licenses, DEA registration, liability insurance, and NPI
- Monitor credentialing deadlines and proactively initiate renewal or re-attestation actions
- Assist with PECOS, NPPES, and other credentialing platforms
Administrative Support
- Perform data entry, document management, and file maintenance
- Support the Lead Administrative Coordinator with general administrative tasks as assigned
- Assist with scanning, scheduling coordination, internal communication, and meeting preparation
- Answer phone calls or emails related to credentialing status and documentation
- Provide clerical support on special projects and organizational needs
- Prepare and distribute status reports and support other special projects as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of credentialing experience in a healthcare setting required
- Working knowledge of CAQH, Medi-Cal, Medicare, and commercial payor credentialing
- Familiarity with ACBHD requirements or behavioral health credentialing strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
