What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Party Chief position at Becker Morgan?
Basic Function: Perform routine tasks of land surveying.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Perform various types of surveys such as ALTA Surveys, property boundaries, route surveys, topographic surveys, project control surveys and reading plats and deeds
Responsible for field data collection, field calculations, using proper survey procedures and reporting survey findings
Operate and maintain all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors
Transfer survey data to the proper files in the computer network and acquires data for field use
Recommend new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed
Oversee the operation with periodic reviews of record keeping, field procedures and survey audits to ensure that all work is performed in an efficient and professional manner
Maintain accurate and legible field notes
Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment
May assist in preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software
Out of area work requiring overnight stay may be required
Qualifications/Skills:
Attention to detail
Ability to read plans, plats, schematics, etc. and understand the data as it pertains to the task at hand
Plan, organize, and meet deadlines
Consistent work effort, dependability, and willing to learn
Ability to work in a team environment and be cooperative and collaborative
Recognize, understand, and demonstrate safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
AutoCAD Civil 3d experience
Strong working knowledge of Total Station and GNSS/RTK
Education/Experience:
2 years of Survey Party Chief experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Degree in Surveying, preferred
Certifications/Licenses Required:
CST Level II or III, preferred
Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License

Readiness to perform these duties in all weather conditions/climates including heat, cold, rain etc.

Salary : $31,000 - $39,200
