The Project Analyst (Control Systems DE/DT) supports ships force and reactor plant instrumentation and control (I&C) projects by fielding and sustaining Data Entry & Data Display (DE/DT) laptop systems and application software used to monitor reactor performance. The analyst manages DE/DT software and configuration from developer release, through prototypic testing, to deployment in the active fleet, working on a multi discipline, fleet facing team to plan, validate, document, and execute controlled installation of DE/DT software on standalone commercial laptops in support of Navy nuclear propulsion.

Essential Duties:
- Work on a multi-discipline (information technology, engineering, and project management) fleet-facing team that provides life cycle support for the DE/DT system, consisting of commercial laptops and operating systems running custom applications developed by Navy laboratories, shipyards, and program suppliers.
- Plan, create, and validate physical media (e.g., CDs, hard drives, removable drives) used to distribute DE/DT software, and conduct prototypic testing to verify correct installation, configuration, and performance Exercise judgement in identifying and resolving discrepancies discovered during testing.
- Maintain and continuously improve the DE/DT technical manual, including configuration-controlled instructions for operating system configuration, hardware setup, and application installation. Ensure documentation aligns with current software baselines, hardware configurations, and program requirements.
- Develop, execute, and refine test plans and installation procedures for DE/DT application media at Navy laboratories, shipyards, and suppliers. Document test results, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions in coordination with developers and stakeholders.
- Oversee and track the controlled shipment and accountability of DE/DT laptops and software media to suppliers, shipyards, and laboratories for testing and operational use, ensuring proper configuration status and documentation are maintained.
- Provide technical support to active Navy fleet through formal fleet correspondence (e.g., Naval Messages, Trouble Records) in conjunction with DE/DT team members.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, IT, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Technical Writing, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of experience working in an IT related field, project management, technical writing, or logistics.
- Ten (10) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Information Management, or Technical Writing.
- Two (2) years of experience as a professional working in a strict process-driven environment where attention to detail is essential.
- Adept at troubleshooting IT and process issues, using external and internal resources.
- Experience and familiarity with inventory management.
- Comfortable communicating with a large group of stakeholders including the Navy, Navy laboratories, suppliers, and shipyards.
- Interest in growth in a specialized IT field, such as learning BASH, PowerShell, and/or Python to facilitate installer builds.
- Knowledgeable with both Windows and Linux Operating system environments.
- Ability and willingness to travel (:10%) in order to perform required laboratory testing, most frequently to Schenectady, NY.
