Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, and styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Assess each pet’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming treatments
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to discuss grooming preferences, special needs, or health concerns
- Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring gentle yet firm control to prevent stress or injury
- Support team members with additional pet care tasks such as feeding or basic veterinary assistance when needed
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming, with a strong understanding of breed-specific cuts and styles
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling best practices
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods and safe pet handling procedures
- Exceptional customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners and address their concerns confidently
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as grooming equipment or large dogs safely and comfortably
- At least 2 years of professional pet grooming experience is preferred.
