Customs Enforcement Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Surveillance and Apprehension: Detect and prevent undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the land borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions.
• Responding to Alarms and Physical Evidence: Respond to electronic sensor alarms; interpret and follow tracks, marks, and other physical evidence.
• Anti-smuggling Activities and Vehicle Checks: Respond to aircraft sighting and other anti-smuggling activities; perform farm and ranch checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling International Borders and Coastal Waterways: Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets to accomplish the USBP mission.

Occasional travel may be required based on operational needs.
