About the Role
">The Public Works Maintenance Technician II is a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water, sewer, stormwater, and street infrastructure. As a skilled professional, you will be expected to coordinate and participate in routine maintenance and construction projects, as well as assist management in planning new construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and participate in routine maintenance and construction projects. ">
- Assist management in planning new construction and maintenance projects. ">
- Inspect projects in progress and equipment for repairs and safety. ">
- Make recommendations for equipment or modifications to existing equipment. ">
- Train other employees in proper maintenance procedures and equipment operations. ">
- Cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or to otherwise balance the workload. ">
- Install water, sewer, and stormwater pipe systems. ">
- Repair and maintain water, street, parks, stormwater, sewer, and facility assets. ">
- Patch, pave, and grade roads and walkways. ">
- Perform street sweeping. ">
- Conduct vegetation control/pruning in City right of way, stormwater ponds, and easements. ">
- Troubleshoot SCADA/Telemetry for water/sewer facilities. ">
- Repair and install uniform traffic control devices. ">
- Conduct snow operations including anti-icing, sanding, plowing, and snow removal. ">
- Perform minor installations and repairs (carpentry, electrical, plumbing). ">
- Read and maintain water meters. ">
- Install and maintain hydrants and specialized water system appurtenances. ">
- Install and maintain water and wastewater pumps. ">
- A high school diploma or equivalent. ">
- Three years of experience at an equivalent level or as a truck driver, equipment operator, or supervisor in a work environment similar to a municipal public works department. ">
- A valid driver's license. ">
- Washington State Traffic Control Flagger certification within six months of hire. ">
- First Aid/CPR certification within one year. ">
- Water Distribution Manager I/OIT certification within eighteen months. ">
- A Class A commercial driver's license with tanker and airbrake endorsements within two years. ">
