Tire Service Manager Job Description:
This role involves managing a team of mechanics, installers, and tire technicians, and ensuring that all work is done to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics, installers, and tire technicians
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations
- Manage budgets and departmental expenditures
- Requisition tools, equipment, and materials as required
- Support employee development through coaching and training
- Investigate accidents and prepare reports with findings
- Recommend or implement personnel actions, including hiring and disciplinary measures
- Perform complex maintenance and repair tasks using specialized tools
- Develop and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper shop conditions
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on products and services
- Design or modify equipment to meet operational requirements
Requirements:
- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
- Experience: 2 plus years of relevant industry experience: fleet, truck, farm, heavy equipment, OTR, commercial vehicles, etc.
- Computer Skills: General Computer skills are required. Familiar with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (e-mail), and able to send and receive e-mail.
- Must be able to learn how to enter work orders in point-of-sale environment, print work orders, make changes to work orders and produce invoices.
- Other Requirements: Fork-lift training, OSHA requirements, Safety training and any other training or certifications as required in location.
- Minimum of 23 years of age, good motor vehicle record (no more than 3 violations in the last 3 years).
