Sourcing and Purchasing Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Procurement Specialist. This role demands strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to effectively manage the procurement process and meet the needs of our company. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of different plant varieties, their characteristics, and growing requirements, as well as strong analytical skills to analyze data and monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and analyze market trends, plant availability, and pricing to identify the best sources for plants.
• Develop and maintain relationships with plant nurseries and growers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms.
• Ensure quality standards are met by closely monitoring customer and sales team feedback and generate purchase orders for plants, specifying quantities, varieties, and delivery dates.
• Manage plant delivery schedules and coordinate with transportation providers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or higher
• 2 years experience working in purchasing of plant materials
• Extensive knowledge of different plant varieties, their characteristics, and growing requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers.
• Ability to negotiate favorable pricing and delivery terms with suppliers.
