Job Overview
The Sample Coordinator plays a crucial role in the laboratory by performing duties and training to acquire the skills required for sample and standard handling. This position provides support to the Sample Coordinator and performs administrative tasks in the Sample Management department.
Schedule and Work Environment
This is a second shift position working Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00pm to 12:00am. The employee will be standing for full shifts, able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance, and work in various outside weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of simple inventory tracking procedures, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, inventory, transport, check-out, etc.
- Communicate status of tasks to supervisor and/or appropriate laboratory staff.
- Train on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements.
- Support response to environmental unit alarms and may participate in on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- No experience required.
Working Conditions
- Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
- Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours.
- Able to lift and move objects of 15 to 40 pounds.
- Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
