Role Description
This Patient Services Representative plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support to our medical team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong attention to detail.
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments and arrival using the Practice Management System
- Fulfilling responsibilities as assigned, including sending/receiving patient records and documents, scheduling surgical procedures and tests, obtaining pre-certification for healthcare services, verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics, scanning, managing and updating charts to ensure that information is complete
- Answering telephone calls, relaying messages, and providing information when necessary
- Maintaining files and assisting in establishing office systems
- Ordering office supplies and operating related office equipment
- Attending meetings, taking and distributing minutes
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required
- Previous patient relations experience required
- Previous general office experience required
- Previous physician practice experience preferred
- Basic medical terminology, electronic scheduling, and electronic medical record experience preferred
