Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced healthcare professional to lead our MDS program. As an MDS Director, you will be responsible for managing the MDS program, ensuring accuracy in assessments, determining PDPM, and monitoring CMI scores. You will also mentor and manage MDS Coordinators, provide ongoing education to facility staff, and track assessment data to confirm compliance and identify strategic opportunities to optimize reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the MDS program, ensuring accuracy in assessments
- Determine PDPM and expense associated with a potential admission
- Monitor CMI scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect reimbursement
- Mentor and manage MDS Coordinators
- Participate in comprehensive resident assessments and care planning
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate data collection for assessments
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid state RN license
- Advanced degree or certification
- Direct care in a long-term care setting and/or MDS Coordinator experience
- Proficient in state and federal regulations governing the MDS and billing process
- Knowledge and understanding of EMR, PDP, MDS 3.0, Medicaid, and Medicare requirements
- Deadline-driven, exceptionally detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, analytical capabilities, and the ability to make decisions independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities
