Job Summary
">We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the Medication Assisted Opioid Treatment Program. The successful candidate will provide intermediate human support work in the care and treatment of patients, managing medications, administering observed doses, obtaining lab specimens, preparing records, and related work as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate clients, collect vital signs and specimens, and monitor patient response to treatment.
- In collaboration with the Pharmacist, manage, sort, and prepare medications for distribution to patients, evaluating medication compliance.
- Participate in diversion control efforts, document results in patient records, and report concerns to the Registered Nurse and case manager.
- Administer oral medication, injections, immunizations, and medications with training and supervision; assist the physician as needed.
- Deliver medication to patients in residential treatment and observe dosing.
- Provide crisis intervention services as necessary.
Requirements
- A thorough knowledge of practical nursing techniques and the care and treatment of all types of clients.
- Skill in preparing and administering medications, general knowledge of proper dosage, effects, and contraindications.
- The ability to make astute observations of patient conditions and to report changes accurately.
- The ability to understand, interpret, and relate oral and written instruction.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, medical personnel, and the general public.
