Job Summary
The Site Psychiatrist provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients as well as psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. The Site Psychiatrist provides clinical direction, general supervision, and training to the site staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of those inmates referred by the medical and clinical services staff.
- Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment course.
- Where applicable, provide psychiatric services for inpatients, assessment, diagnosis, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review of all inmates assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of Mississippi and certified by the Office of Behavioral Health to provide psychiatric services in a licensed inpatient unit.
- Current DEA number.
