About the Role:
This is an entry-level driver training role that involves assisting experienced drivers in hauling freight and executing deliveries.
Candidates will learn and gain experience in operating tractor trailers while assisting driver trainers with their deliveries and routes.
As a team member within the department and organization, you will perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Rides-with and assists driver trainer in executing deliveries as required.
- Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Verifies delivery of items with customers and obtains proper signatures.
- Collects money (cash or checks) where required.
