Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled grinding machine specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating grinding machines to produce high-quality parts.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of machine tool accuracies, tool offsets, and cutting wheel feeds, speeds, and wheel life for aerospace grinding. They will also be able to maintain close tolerances (within .0003") of ID's, hold .0003 profile, roundness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate grinding machines to produce high-quality parts.
- Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records.
- Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least three years of experience in operation set-up on CNC ID grinding equipment.
- Skilled in using indicators, gauges, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
- Strong understanding of machine tool accuracies, tool offsets, and cutting wheel feeds, speeds, and wheel life for aerospace grinding.
