Job Description:
The role of a Mechanic - Heavy Duty Equipment is to perform skilled preventive maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on County Fleet vehicles. This includes diagnosing and repairing components for electrical, electronic, fuel supply, hydraulics, and cooling systems. The individual must be able to determine the extent of necessary repairs, prioritize work tasks, and transport equipment from the field to the repair facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled preventive maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on County Fleet vehicles
- Determine the extent of necessary repairs and prioritize work tasks
- Transport equipment from the field to the repair facility
- Diagnose and repair components for electrical, electronic, fuel supply, hydraulics, and cooling systems
Requirements:
- Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to a minimum of two years of experience in the automotive/equipment repair industry servicing light and/or heavy equipment
- Valid Arizona State Commercial Driver's License within 6 months of hire (Heavy Duty Assignment)
