Job Summary
This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a high level of technical skill and knowledge in the HVACR trade. The successful candidate will work independently to perform a wide range of tasks, including installation, maintenance, repair and modification of HVACR equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing complex tasks in accordance with standard HVACR trade practices and codes;
- Operating, maintaining and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems;
- Determining required cooling capacity of units and interpreting psychometric charts;
- Controlling and measuring air flow, room air changes and room pressurizing;
- Monitoring computerized control systems and performing minor tests for fuel specific gravity and gas leaks;
- Adding water treatment chemicals to boilers and making estimates of time, personnel and materials;
- Keeping necessary records and performing related duties as required.
Requirements
- A minimum of four years of experience in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration trade;
- Two years of the General Experience must have been performing skilled heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration trades;
- A current State of Connecticut heating, piping and/or cooling license;
- A valid motor vehicle operator license;
- The ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints for building and utility systems.
