Overview
We are looking for an experienced General Counsel for Commercial Operations to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for managing all legal aspects of our real estate and construction, commercial, and franchise operations across the country.
The ideal candidate will have 12 years of real estate experience in a law firm and/or as an in-house attorney, with a strong preference for tenant-side retail leasing experience. You will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating real estate agreements, managing eminent domain actions, conducting due diligence for property acquisitions, and providing legal advice on real estate, development, and related corporate matters.
Responsibilities
- Real Estate and Construction: Manage all legal aspects of real estate and construction projects, including negotiation, documentation, and closing.
- Commercial Transactions: Negotiate and document commercial transactions, including sales, purchases, and leasing.
- Franchise Matters: Handle all aspects of franchise matters, including negotiation, documentation, and compliance.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop internal Real Estate, Commercial, and Franchising practice group team members; as the organization grows, evaluate and build business case for appropriate resourcing and structuring of practice.
