The Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) provides resident-centered care and daily living assistance to seniors in a long-term care facility. Responsibilities include administering medications under the supervision of a nurse, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a supportive environment for residents.
Administering prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Provide personal care to assigned residents, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Assist with meals and snacks; provide water and supplements as appropriate.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
- Minimum age of 18 preferred.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
