Job Title: Cost Accountant
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing material, freight, labor, and overhead standards, performing variance analysis monthly, and preparing performance records to develop business forecasts for planning purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in establishing and maintaining accurate product pricing and costs in the computer system.
- Perform monthly freight reconciliation between projected freight costs and payments to ensure sufficient freight accrued.
- Prepare month-end close standard journal entries and confirm COGS accuracy.
- Complete variance analysis for review with department managers and the Controller.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role.
- Thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
