School Facility Maintenance Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a School Facility Maintenance professional. This role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of school buildings, classrooms, restrooms, hallways, administrative offices, gyms, auditoriums, and other areas.
The successful candidate will perform various tasks, including:
- Dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Washing windows and cleaning window sills
- Caring for and cleaning the grounds
- Scrubbing, stripping, and waxing floors
- Cleaning and sanitizing restroom fixtures, hardware, tile, mirrors, partitions, floors, and replacing supplies as needed
- Setting up tables, chairs, etc., for school meetings, games, dances, and other events
- Reporting any damage to school property and maintenance needs
- Replacing light bulbs as needed
- FOLLOWING A SCHEDULE AND COMPLETING TASKS AS ASSIGNED
- Loading and unloading supplies and equipment
- Assisting with maintenance work and performing minor repairs
- Sweeping exterior walkways
- Relieving, assisting, or filling in temporarily on other jobs as assigned by the supervisor
- Knowing the location and proper care and use of all firefighting equipment
- Ensuring the security of classrooms and buildings by checking that all students are out, lights are off, windows and doors are locked, and rooms and buildings are free from fire hazards
- Working on maintenance during summer months
- Reporting any trouble or problems relating to the heating or cooling system immediately
- Cleaning all tools, supplies, and equipment after each use and storing them in their proper place
Required Skills and Qualifications:
