The Role of a Continuous Improvement Specialist
We are seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Continuous Improvement Specialist. This role involves working closely with operations to drive positive change and implement processes that prevent losses from recurring.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire teams to challenge existing processes and develop more efficient ways of working.
This position requires strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and basic computer concepts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging members of our team to solve problems, developing standard work, leading/facilitating Continuous Improvement brainstorming sessions, and managing productivity projects to enable the plant to unlock capacity, drive efficiencies, and generate cost savings.
Additional responsibilities include teaching LEAN tools & principles to team members, utilizing LEAN methodologies and problem-solving tools, and writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the functional area assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2- 5 years' experience in a Plant Operations, Engineering, or Continuous Improvement role or related capacity
- Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred in engineering, industrial science, business, or another relevant field with an emphasis on manufacturing
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
- Knowledge of basic LEAN principles
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at various organizational levels
- Understanding of basic principles of the SQF program and other food safety policies/procedures
