As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of water and drainage sewage systems. This role requires basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary and Benefits
The starting training pay is $20/hour, which increases to $18/hour after completion of training. In addition, a 27% commission on completed jobs provides an opportunity for higher earnings based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Clear blocked plumbing lines in commercial and residential buildings
- Provide drain cleaning services for grease lines, urinals, difficult access lines, back-to-back lines, damaged lines, ejector pumps, and sump pumps
- Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
- Repair plumbing fixtures, such as sink pipes, commodes, and garbage disposal unit pop-up assemblies and waste and overflows
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge needed
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 200 pounds
