Physical Demands:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist must be able to demonstrate intellectual-conceptual, integrative, and quantitative abilities, skills in observation, communication, and motor functions, and mature behavioral and social attributes. The ability to detect and interpret changes in monitoring alarms and equipment, functional vision, hearing, no impairment of sense of smell and tactile sensation, and adequate visual acuity are essential.
The candidate should have sufficient motor function to elicit pertinent information, stand for long periods of time, wear lead as needed for fluoroscopy X-Ray cases, lift 25 pounds, reach above and below shoulder height, negotiate patient care environments, and move self/patients between anesthesia locations.
