The Controller plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the company, overseeing the production of periodic financial reports and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager, with a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting required. An MBA is preferred, and a CPA certification is highly valued.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting relevant data points.
- Performing activities necessary to close financial statements monthly in accordance with GAAP, company timelines, and policies.
- Completing preparation and/or review of balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Filing and paying all required federal, state, and local taxes in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
- Assisting in the preparation and/or review of daily revenue audits, as needed.
- Preparing budgets and forecasts in collaboration with operational leadership.
- Guiding financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures.
- Achieving budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action.
- Helping develop and support short and long-term operational strategies.
- Managing and monitoring all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
