SHUTTLE BUS DRIVER
Job Title: Shuttle Bus driver
Reports to: Assistant Manager
We’re looking for a reliable, safety-minded, and customer-friendly Shuttle Bus Driver to join our team this summer!
Position Overview
As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you will safely transport passengers between the Beaver Island Boat Company dock in Charlevoix and our off-site parking facilities. You’ll play a key role in providing excellent service to our ferry passengers and helping create a smooth, positive experience from the moment they arrive.
Schedule & Season
- Seasonal position running from Memorial Weekend through September 7th (with possibility to start earlier and go longer into the season if your available)
- 7 days per week operation, but you do not need to work every day
- Flexible hours and days — we can work with your availability
- Shuttle runs throughout the day with set departure times
What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
- Valid Michigan Chauffeur License (or equivalent endorsement)
- Clean, safe driving record — no more than one moving violation or at-fault accident in the last 3 years
- No DWI, DUI, reckless, or negligent driving convictions
- Strong customer service and communication skills — you must be articulate, friendly, and professional
- Responsible, hardworking, and flexible team player
- Ability to work well with groups of passengers
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug & alcohol testing
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred but not required:
- Previous experience driving a passenger van or cutaway shuttle bus
- First Aid and CPR certification
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate the shuttle bus/van and ensure the safety and security of all passengers
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle
- Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Complete daily checklists and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Keep the vehicle clean, fueled, and presentable at all times
- Provide friendly, helpful service to all passengers
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
