Co-Teacher

Position Summary:
The Co-Teacher is responsible for providing a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for a range of children ages. This position focuses on promoting physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth through hands-on exploration, structured routines, and individualized care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of toddlers at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support language development, motor skills, social interaction, and early learning concepts.
• Establish and maintain consistent daily routines, including circle time, story time, sensory play, music, and outdoor exploration.
• Provide individual attention to meet each child’s unique developmental needs.
• Support toddlers in learning self-help skills such as feeding, cleaning up, and beginning toilet readiness (if applicable).
• Communicate daily with parents/guardians about their child’s routines, milestones, and progress.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Document developmental observations and participate in child assessments as required.
• Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and center policies.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to ensure consistent and high-quality care.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and sit on the floor to actively engage with toddlers.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move children and classroom equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to move quickly in response to children’s needs and in emergency situations.
• Must be able to spend extended periods both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Requires sufficient vision, hearing, speech, and mobility to supervise and interact effectively with children.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience caring for toddlers in a licensed childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of toddler development, positive guidance strategies, and age-appropriate practices.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must meet all state licensing requirements, including background checks and health screenings.

Work Schedule:
Full-time or part-time schedule based on center needs. Availability Monday through Friday, including some flexibility for training, meetings, or special events.

Pay: From $12.77 per hour
