Overview
We are seeking a forklift operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. Hours are 2pm-10pm (Second Shift). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cold Warehouse distribution and materials handling, with experience operating various types of heavy equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement of goods within our facility, contributing to our overall operational success.
Duties
- Operate forklifts to load and unload materials safely.
- Perform order picking tasks using RF scanners to accurately fulfill customer orders.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper materials handling and warehouse management systems.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Engage in heavy lifting and moving of products as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with various equipment operations including forklifts.
- Ability to work in an extremely cold environment.
- Mechanical knowledge is preferred for troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
- Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards related to warehouse operations.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving processes is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
