Barista/Cashier/Customer Service

Job Overview
We are seeking passionate individuals and dedicated Baristas to join our team in creating a warm and inviting coffee shop experience for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages while providing exceptional customer service. Your role will involve engaging with customers, managing orders efficiently, and ensuring the main coffee shop remains a clean and welcoming environment. We are searching for a responsible team member that will work with us throughout the summer and beyond; developing appropriate skills that will allow staff member to take on more responsibility within the workplace. Saturdays are required and possibly occasional Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
• Assist with food preparation and handling in compliance with food safety standards.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies; communicate needs to management as necessary.
• Uphold food safety practices during food handling and preparation to ensure a safe environment for customers.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Engage with customers to create a friendly atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with patrons.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours.
• Experience in food preparation or handling is preferred; knowledge of food safety practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts is beneficial for managing inventory and sales.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a café or similar setting is advantageous but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Team members must be available to work most Saturdays and occasional Sunday.

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
