This position designs, develops, and optimizes data systems, database solutions, and workflow automation that support the Beaufort County Treasurer's Office through reliable, scalable, and efficient technology solutions. Ensures the integrity, performance, and accessibility of data by developing database systems, ETL processes, reporting solutions, and business intelligence tools while promoting the Office's vision, mission, values, and culture.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. - Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of data across financial systems and reporting platforms.
- Establishes and maintains scalable data management processes and reporting standards.
- Manages Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests related to departmental data.
- Develops and maintains data governance policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Monitors reporting workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable information for decision-making.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and commitment to personal, leadership, and team development.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Supports onboarding, mentoring, and cross-training initiatives.
- Demonstrates flexibility in meeting changing operational priorities.
- Assists in developing and updating departmental policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; or eight (8) years of equivalent experience.
- Requires at least five (5) years of experience in database development, ETL processes, or data engineering, with advanced knowledge of SQL, database management, business intelligence, automation, and related technologies necessary to develop, optimize, and support enterprise data solutions.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
