What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager Intern position at Beaufort County South Carolina?
The purpose of this intern position is to help with the management of assigned stormwater projects through the planning, design, construction, occupancy and warranty period of complex construction as well as maintenance projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- As a Project Manager Intern, you will work closely with your supervisor acting as a liaison between county departments, developers, contractors, and the public relating to county projects.
- You will help determine the nature and extent of the work needed and coordinate the public meeting process associated with the projects.
- Alongside your supervisor, you will monitor contractors and consultants to ensure contract terms and conditions are met.
- Assist in the inspection of construction sites for compliance with specifications and will track change orders.
- You will have the opportunity for in-house review of drawings, material sources and specifications during construction.
- Additionally, you will help supervise and prepare drawings of plans and details.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a currently enrolled student in a college-level program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
- Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
