Position Assistant Department Director, Surgical Services Location Beaufort Memorial Hospital Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift Days Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt Description

The Assistant Department Director has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for the clinical, financial, and personnel management of Perioperative Services areas to include, OR, ASC, Endo, Pre-op/PACU and CSR on a 24-hour basis. This person is a role model for clinical competence and professional behavior. The Assistant Department Director assists the Department Director to ensure the delivery of quality patient care for all patients in all areas through their leadership and clinical expertise. They serve as a resource for staff, patients, physicians and other departments. Through collaboration with all staff assigned to the Perioperative Areas and ancillary departments they ensure effective communications and cooperation. Under the leadership of the Department Director, the Assistant Department Director supports the quality improvement, patient safety and patient satisfaction process and assists the Department Director to ensure all processes are executed to comply with regulatory standards. Actively supports the Core Values, Mission and Vision of BMH.

Position Requirements

Education:

• Ability to obtain a South Carolina License. BSN required or candidate must be actively enrolled in a BSN program and must have completed at least 1 course towards their BSN degree. BSN must be completed within 2 years of hire into position.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years as RN with experience in all Perioperative Areas. Charge Nurse experience required.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Holds current South Caroline license.
• BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by American Heart Association).
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months.
• National certification encouraged.
