Job Description
Beau’s Chateau for Pets, a professional pet boarding and dog daycare facility in Traverse City, is hiring a Part-Time Dog Handler / Kennel Attendant to join our animal care team. As we prepare for the busy summer season, we are adding team members who are dependable, safety-focused, and passionate about working with pets.
This is a physically active, hands-on animal care position in a structured, fast-paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet and managing multiple dogs throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Supervise group and individual dog play in a daycare and boarding environment
- Provide daily animal care, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring of dog behavior
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kennel and play areas
- Support daily kennel operations and scheduled routines
- Assist with basic customer service and front-desk tasks as needed
Schedule & Physical Requirements
- Weekend, evening shifts and mid-day shifts are required
- Must be able to reliably commute in all weather conditions
- Must be able to stand, walk, run, lift, and carry for extended periods
- This role is physically demanding and requires consistent activity
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care, dog daycare, kennel work, or pet boarding is a plus
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Basic math, phone, and computer skills
- Strong attendance, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
Pay & Benefits
- Hourly pay plus tips, paid weekly (pay based on experience)
