Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Journeyman/Journeywoman to join our team.
Must demonstrate strong comprehension of architectural and electrical drawings, with the ability to interpret plans accurately and translate them into clear work assignments for apprentices and crew members.
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various industrial and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical experience, including working with high and low voltage systems, schematics, and blueprint reading. This role requires a strong understanding of NEC standards and the ability to work safely on construction sites, renovation projects, and industrial facilities. The Electrical Journeyman/Journeywoman will ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and project specifications, contributing to the successful completion of diverse electrical installations.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and construction environments.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices to diagnose issues and verify system integrity.
- Comply with NEC standards and safety protocols during all phases of installation and maintenance work.
- Assist in renovation projects by updating or replacing existing electrical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference.
- Adhere to all safety policies on construction sites or industrial facilities to prevent accidents or injuries.
Skills
- Extensive experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
- Knowledge of NEC regulations and safety standards applicable to construction sites and industrial environments.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on construction site projects or renovations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Experience with framing carpentry or maintenance person tasks is a plus but not required.
