Independent Contractor | Maryland | Developmental Disabilities
Beatty Nursing & Training, LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a background in developmental disabilities (DD) to serve as a Delegating Nurse / Case Manager. This independent contractor role focuses on promoting the health, safety, and well-being of individuals supported in residential settings through a delegation-based nursing model.
The Delegating Nurse maintains a caseload and is responsible for:
- Conducting initial, 45-day, post-hospital, and ongoing nursing assessments
- Delegating and supervising medication administration and nursing tasks performed by unlicensed staff
- Training and evaluating staff competency in delegated duties
- Reviewing MARs and physician orders
- Collaborating with program directors, agency leadership, and healthcare providers
- Ensuring all nursing documentation is completed within required regulatory timeframes
This role offers a flexible schedule, with many home visits conducted evenings or weekends. Nurses self-schedule visits in coordination with program leadership.
- Active RN license in the State of Maryland
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
- Experience working with the developmental disabilities population required
- Maryland DDA-trained DD-RN certification (or eligibility)
- Current HRST certification
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Delegating nurse experience preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Independent contractor position
- Opportunity to provide on-call services (mutually agreed upon with additional pay)
- Must practice in accordance with Maryland Nurse Practice Act and applicable DDA regulations
