Lead Preschool Teacher

Beatie Street Preschool and Kindergarten
Oakland, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/21/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/20/2026

Our School:

Beatie Street Preschool & Kindergarten is a small, non-profit, licensed childcare center located in the Ivy Hill neighborhood in Oakland. We offer an inquiry-driven, play-based curriculum with an emphasis on social-emotional development and social consciousness. We have one mixed-age class with 15 students ages 3-6 years old who occupy our cozy, intentional, home-like classrooms. Our small staff work collaboratively to design the daily curriculum, classroom organization and daily routines that make our program a unique and robust, high quality learning environment. Our program attracts families that are seeking more than a school- they want to build community and have opportunities to be involved in their children's education. Our parents are active in the life of the school whether by serving on our parent board, helping out with the physical maintenance of the school, volunteering in the classroom for special events or staff meetings, or attending our annual community celebrations. Grounded in our commitment to equity and economic accessibility, we operate on a sliding scale tuition model and provide tuition assistance to Black families.
