Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain cleanliness and safety across our customers facilities. This role is essential in ensuring a hygienic, organized, and welcoming environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience in various cleaning and custodial tasks, with a strong focus on quality and efficiency. Prior janitorial, custodial, experience is preferred, but will train the right person. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained workspace while developing skills in floor care and general maintenance. Pay increases are given based on performance and attendance. A review is given a 90 days.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Conduct detailed cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, and fixtures to uphold high standards of hygiene and appearance
- Assist with specialized tasks such as floor buffing and polishing.
- Repor maintenance issues to ensure facilities are safe and operational
- Use industrial cleaning equipment for deep cleaning projects as needed
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in commercial or industrial environments
- Experience with floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing floors
- Knowledge of various cleaning methods for residential and industrial settings
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers or extractors is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following established procedures
